With the trade deadline approaching, theNew York Metshave been linked to numerous position players such asCarlos Gomez,Justin UptonandJay Bruceto bolster their lineup. They have already added complimentary pieces inJuan UribeandKelly Johnsonto help giveTerry Collinsmore options, but they are still missing the big bat that creates fear in opposing pitchers.
Last night, we saw the Blue Jays shock the baseball world by acquiringTroy Tulowitzkiand LaTroy Hawkins forJose Reyesand pitching prospects. Immediately after, rumors swirled of the Rockies flipping Reyes for more prospects. Of course, the Mets have a need at shortstop, and they were one of the teams speculated to bring Reyes back to Queens.
