The New York Mets have had a surprisingly good record in the first half of the 2015 season.

Coming into the season, expectations for the Mets were a bit unknown, as they had a lot of unproven players. The Mets are 47-42 as they head into the All-Star break. As many expected, the Washington Nationals are in first place in the National League East, but the Mets are hanging tough in their division, and also in the Wild Card hunt.

The first half of the season hasn’t be free of any hardships for the Mets, as their lineup has been riddled with injuries. Mets’ star third baseman David Wright has played in just eight games this season, as he’s been a non-factor this season. Wright’s availability for the rest of the season is still an unknown, it has put pressure on the rest of the hitters in the lineup.

New York has also had its fair share on injuries to their bullpen and starting rotation. Unlike with the lineup, the next pitcher up for the Mets has been working as some of their prized prospects are having a lot of success in the majors this season.

With a successful first half of the season in the books for the Mets, here are the five best Mets of the first half of the season.
