Brett Gardner

Arguably the best player for the Yankees the past two seasons has been Brett Gardner. The first half of 2015 has been full of great production from Gardner, and he was named to his first All-Star team after an injury to Alex Gordon of the Kansas City Royals.

When Gardner first arrived in New York he was just a speedster, but now he has become a total player. In the first half of the season, Gardner is hitting .302 with 10 homeruns, 42 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases.

In the beginning of the season, Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury were a dynamic one-two punch in the top of the order. The injury to Ellsbury forced Gardner into the leadoff position, and he really thrived as one of the hottest hitters in baseball heading into the All-Star break. Gardner may not be getting the attention he deserves in New York or around the league, but he has become a fantastic all-around player for the New York Yankees.
