18. Arizona Diamondbacks (42-45) The Diamondbacks reached the elusive .500 mark this week by winning five of six games, but quickly fell back below it as they got swept out of Citi Field by the Mets. The starting rotation is the problem still for the Diamondbacks, as they are taxing the bullpen; Chase Anderson, Patrick Corbin and Ruby De La Rosa gave them no length, as Corbin had the longest outing at 5+ innings. They need to start going deeper into games of this team will struggle getting to the .500 mark and staying above it.

17. Cleveland Indians (42-46)The Indians have been a streaky team of late, either winning or losing three or more games in bunches the past two and a half weeks. The consistent inconsistency has plagued the Indians all season, as they cannot get constant production from anyone. Right now some pitchers, such as Danny Salazar and Trevor Bauer are throwing well, but the offense outside of Jason Kipnis and Carlos Santana this week has left much to be desired. They aren’t out of the race yet, being 5.5 games behind currently, but will need to pick things up on both sides of the ball to truly climb back into the race.

16. Detroit Tigers (44-44) The Tigers are in a tough spot. Their offense has been productive without Miguel Cabrera as J.D. Martinez, Victor Martinez and Yoenis Cespedes have picked things up. But, the pitching staff outside David Price still remains a huge question mark. They suffered a demoralizing defeat at the hands of the Twins over the weekend when they blew a six-run lead in the ninth inning. That was followed up by Alfredo Simon and Shane Greene getting blasted in starts over the weekend. The Tigers are in a full freefall and will have to make some moves to get back on track.
