27. Milwaukee Brewers (38-52) The Brewers have regressed back to the mean after their eight-game losing streak, as they lost consecutive series to the Braves and Dodgers. One bit of good news is that Ryan Braun was named to the All-Star team to replace the injured Matt Holliday as he has had a nice bounce back season. They are out of the playoff race now, but there are still players worth watching in addition to Braun such as Carlos Gomez, as long as he isn’t traded. One guy who will not be traded is youngster Taylor Jungmann, who made two starts this week, against the Reds and Dodgers, and threw 17 innings of two run baseball to go along with 11 strikeouts.

26. Colorado Rockies (39-49) The Rockies are on a four-game winning streak after taking all four in a weekend series from the Braves. Surprisingly, they received strong pitching performances throughout, something that has been far and few between for the Rockies this season. Being 11 games behind in their division their season is probably over. That is how things will be until they can get some pitching help. Some might be on the way, as top prospect Jon Gray could get the call up sooner than later.

25. Oakland Athletics (41-50) The Athletics have a positive run differential, but they still sit nine games under .500. As we head into the All-Star break, the reality of things may be setting in for the Athletics as this just may not be their year. Expect there to be plenty of calls with teams off for a couple days about Scott Kazmir and Ben Zobrist. Both have been linked to numerous amounts of teams on the rumor mill, and will probably be moved sooner than later as the Athletics fall more and more out of the race.
