18. Texas Rangers (41-42) The Rangers won three of four against the Orioles to get back over .500, but didn’t stay there long as they were then swept by the Angels over the weekend. Their pitching staff, especially starters Chi-Chi Gonzalez, Wandy Rodriguez and Colby Lewis, had a horrible weekend as the Rangers surrendered 33 runs in three games. All-Star lineups would struggle to score that many runs in a weekend series, and void of any potential All-Stars outside of Prince Fielder, the Rangers had little chance over the weekend to keep pace. They will look to turn around their home stand heading into the break when they play against the Diamondbacks and Padres.

17. Arizona Diamondbacks (40-42) The Diamondbacks are still unable to reach the .500 mark, but are still playing solid baseball. They were right there all series against the Dodgers despite losing two of three, and then took three of four from the Rockies. Their pitching staff will receive a boost, as All-Star Patrick Corbin returned to the mound Saturday after recovering from Tommy John surgery. He was looking like an ace of the staff when going down, and will provide a boost. Will they be able to reach the .500 mark before the All-Star break, as they will visit the Mets and Rangers this week.

16. Detroit Tigers (41-40) The Tigers are in serious trouble. They got swept by the Pirates, and even though they won two games against the Blue Jays, they came away feeling like losers. The reason? Superstar first baseman Miguel Cabrera was forced to the DL with a hamstring injury, and will miss about six weeks manager Brad Ausmus said. Cabrera will be impossible to replace in the lineup, but Yoenis Cespedes, Victor Martinez and J.D. Martinez will try their best to replace his production. The upcoming road trip to Seattle and Minnesota could determine if the Tigers stay buyers as the deadline approaches or become surprising sellers.
