27. Miami Marlins (35-48) A sweep of the Giants to start the week was a surprise, but then the Marlins lost the weekend series to the Cubs. Most important though was the performance of Jose Fernandez. Fernandez made his season debut after recovering from Tommy John surgery, throwing six innings and getting the win. He helped his own cause hitting a homerun and will provide a jolt for the Marlins. The question remains though if it will be enough of a jolt to get the Marlins back in the race, or if they are too far gone already, especially without Giancarlo Stanton in the lineup.

26. Oakland Athletics (38-47) The Athletics went 4-3 this week, but will need a lot more of those to get things back in the race. With road series against the Yankees and Indians this week, two teams they are chasing, the Athletics could have a make-or-break week heading into the All-Star break. If they have another winning week, they could decide to hold onto players and try to make a push. If they have a losing one, we could see them start trading players such as Ben Zobrist and Scott Kazmir.

25. Milwaukee Brewers (36-48) Say hello to the hottest team in MLB. The Brewers must have been tired of constantly being around the Phillies in our MLB Power Rankings, and have used an eight-game winning streak to do so. Their offense has really begun picking things up, as Gerardo Parra and Scooter Gennett have gotten things going at the top of the order, and Ryan Braun, Adam Lind and Carlos Gomez are knocking them in. The pitching staff has been strong as well, led by Taylor Jungmann and Mike Fiers.
