Most recently, the best quarterback for the Jets was Chad Pennington in 2000’s. Pennington was a first-round pick by the Jets in the 2000 NFL Draft, and he was a winner in New York. In eight seasons with the Jets, Pennington had a 32-29 record.
In Pennington’s eight seasons, the Jets made the playoffs three times, and Pennington had a 2-3 record.
Pennington was always known for his ability to protect the football. In his Jets career, Pennington totaled 13,738 passing yards, 82 passing touchdowns, 55 interceptions, and a 65.6 completion percentage.
In his career. Pennington was held back by a lot of injuries, especially to his throwing arm. Pennington certainly did not have a strong arm, but he was a very good quarterback for the Jets, and helped them be respectable when he was under center.
