12. Baltimore Orioles (12-11) What the Orioles are doing on the field is not what is most important in Baltimore, as riots forced them to postpone the first two games of their series against the White Sox, play in front of an empty stadium in the last game, and move their series with the Rays to Tampa Bay because of safety concerns. Our well wishes are with anyone that is a part of the Orioles organization or residing in Baltimore during these tough times.

11. Minnesota Twins (13-12) Arguably the biggest surprise in baseball is the Twins. A team many expected to be at the bottom of the standings all season finds themselves right in the thick of things of the AL Central. A sweep of the White Sox will help that, as the Twins pitching staff has performed very well. They even took a game against the Tigers in their first series of the week, as the Twins are looking good right now.

10. Tampa Bay Rays (13-12) The Rays offense disappeared this week, as they lost two series to AL East foes in the Yankees and Orioles. In the six games they managed to score only 10 runs, which isn’t enough even if you have lights out pitching every night. There was a save in each game the Rays played this week, so their pitching did keep them in the games. If they can get some production from the offense they could have something going.
