This could be hopeful thinking, but a late-season matchup with the Patriots does offer the possibility that there could be playoff implications. Every time the Patriots and Jets play it is a big deal for Jets fans as they look to knock off the team that has beaten them so many times in the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick era.

It may have been a bad year for the Jets, but they did play the Patriots extremely well last season. In two losses the Jets combined to lose by just three points to the Super Bowl Champions.

To spice up the rivalry, the Jets were able to lure free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis back to New York. In this offseason, the two owners have each file tampering charges against the other, as there is no love lost between the two organizations.

If the Jets want to win the AFC East this season, they will have to beat the Patriots to earn it. Week 16 at MetLife could be a huge game for the Jets if they want to make the playoffs in 2015.
