The Mets have gotten off to a hot start in 2015, and it is one of the best starts in franchise history. The 10-3 start ties the franchise best start to a season with the 1986 and 2006 seasons. In 1986 the Mets won the World Series, and in 2006, the Mets looked well on their way to one until they ran into the St. Louis Cardinals and an Adam Wainwright curveball.

In addition to the 10-3 franchise best tying start, the Mets have accomplished a franchise best mark 8-0 record to start a season. The four-game sweep is also the first time the Mets have accomplished that against the Marlins, and the first time they have swept a four-game series since 2011 when they did it on the road against the Cincinnati Reds from July 25-28.

This is also the first eight-game winning streak for the Mets since June 10-18 in 2010. This is the best baseball the Mets are playing in a long time, as the benchmark in 2014 was only four games above .500.

The buzz around this team is real, as fans were energized all throughout the winter and the start to the season has done nothing to quell them. It is a little early to call this team title contenders, as the last teams that reached 10-3 starts, but it is fun nonetheless with how well they are playing.
