Part of the reason for the Rangers’ success this season was their great goaltending from Henrik Lundqvist, and their backup Cam Talbot. Talbot filled in admirably when Lundqvist went down with a neck injury. Talbot finished this season with a 21-9-4 record, as he helped the Rangers reach the No.1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Talbot totaled five shutouts, 2.21 GAA, and .926 save percentage.

Talbot was fantastic for the Rangers this season, but with the playoffs now here it will be Lundqvist’s time to lead the Rangers. Despite the neck injury, Lundqvist was able to win 30 games this season, while totaling five shutouts, a .922 save percentage, and 2.25 GAA.

Lundqvist is one of the best goalies in the league, and knowing this will be a great opportunity to win a Stanley Cup, Lundqvist will elevate his play even more. A few weeks ago, rust may have been a concern for Lundqvist, but he has been very good since returning from injury. Expect Lundqvist to have a great series for the Rangers in the first-round.
