– Ovechkin isn’t stopped

Like Tavares has been a stud for the Islanders this season, Alex Ovechkin has been equally as great for the Capitals. This season, Ovechkin finished tied for fourth in the NHL with Jacob Voracek at 81 points.

Out of Ovechkin’s 81 points, 53 of those were goals, as he led the NHL in goals scored with 10 more than the next closest in Tampa Bay Lightning’s Steven Stamkos. As mentioned before, the key to slowing down Ovechkin is to keep him off the power-play, as that’s where he does a great deal of his damage.

In four games against the Islanders, Ovechkin has five points with four goals and one assist. Two of those four goals came on the power-play in the regular season, as Ovechkin has shown the Islanders first hand that he is dangerous with a man advantage.

Ovechkin is a great player and is going score points in this series no matter what the Islanders try to do to throw him off his game.
