3. Atlanta Braves (5-1) Arguably the biggest surprise of the first week of the season, the Braves started off with a sweep against the Miami Marlins, then took two of three from the New York Mets. Not coincidentally, the first time they were trailing all season, and the first time their bullpen gave up a run, came in the same game; a series ending loss to the Mets. The Braves shouldn’t get comfortable being up this high, as the Marlins will have revenge on their mind to start the week, and a visit to the Toronto Blue Jays is a never a fun trip.

2. Kansas City Royals (6-0): The other AL Central team that has something to say about those supposed upstarts in the division. Like the Tigers, the Royals demolished a team expected to challenge them in the Chicago White Sox. They followed that up with a strong series over the Los Angeles Angels, keeping pace with the Tigers the first week of the season.

1. Detroit Tigers (6-0) The Tigers have ran through their opponents the first week of the season, trouncing and sweeping both the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians. The sweep in Cleveland may be a sign for people to slow down with the talk that the Indians are ready to overtake the Tigers for the AL Central crown.
