Antonio Cromartie

Dec 28, 2014; Santa Clara, CA, USA; Arizona Cardinals cornerback Antonio Cromartie (31) runs through drills in warmups before the game against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi

One of the final signings by Maccagnan was righting a wrong of one season ago. After two straight trips to the Pro Bowl, Antonio Cromartie was let go by the Jets, and his production wasn’t even close to being replaced in free agency last offseason.

For the last six seasons with the San Diego Chargers, Jets, and Arizona Cardinals, Cromartie has had three or more interceptions every year. Last season, Cromartie made his third straight Pro Bowl with the Cardinals after they gave him a one-year contract. In Arizona, Cromartie’s defensive coordinator was Jets’ new head coach Todd Bowles, and in 2015, the two will be together yet again.

The price tag was not cheap to bring Cromartie back, as he signed the same four-year, $32 million contract that he signed with the Jets his first time around. Cromartie will help lead a Jets’ secondary that will be leaps and bounds better than last season.
