The New York Jets have had one of their best free agencies in a long time in the 2015 offseason after a dreadful 2014 season.
Last spring, general manager John Idzik had a ton of money to work with, and a ton of holes to fill. Idzik did make a few signings like bringing in big names such as Chris Johnson and Eric Decker, that didn’t translate into wins.
The Jets had a glaring hole to fill at cornerback, and despite it being one of the deeper free agency classes for cornerbacks in 2014, the Jets came up with no upgrade in free agency.
Idzik failures led to him being fired, and new general manager Mike Maccagnan being hired. In Maccagnan’s first free agency, he hasn’t been shy about spending money, and on paper has greatly improved the Jets heading into the 2015 season. Maccagnan went out and signed free agents, and he also kept some Jets from leaving to another team in free agency.
Here are the five best signings that Jets’ general manager Maccagnan made in his first offseason with the Jets.
