John Tavares keeps rolling

Even though Crosby has been impressive with five points in his last five games, his Olympic teammate John Tavares has been even better in his last five. In Tavares’ last five games, he has nine points with two goals and seven assists, as he is making his case for being the league’s MVP.

It has been a great season for Tavares, who with the absence of Kyle Okposo for a long stretch in the second half of the season, has really elevated his game. Friday night will be an important game for the Islanders as well, and Tavares has really picked it up a notch trying to get his team a playoff berth.

With the Penguins free-falling, and Fleury’s struggles, Tavares should be able to match Crosby and have his second straight three-point game for the Islanders in their final road game of the regular season.
