–  Jaroslav Halak will struggle

In the Islanders’ most recent loss against the Flyers, goalie Jaroslav Halak had one of those night’s he’ll want to forget.

The Islanders trailed 4-1 in the third period against the Flyers, but were able to rally late with two goals from Anders Lee, and a goal from Johnny Boychuk. The Islanders needed overtime to make the playoffs, but with three seconds left, Halak allowed a horrible goal to Brayden Schenn with 2.1 seconds remaining.

Allowing such a bad goal that cost the Islanders so much can easily rattle a player, and even though Halak was an All-Star this season, it’s going to be difficult to rebound from that. The Bill Buckner impersonation by Halak will have consequences, as Halak will face a good offense that could make his night a bad one.
