No Sweep For You

The Nets will be going for the first season sweep of the Knicks since the 2006-2007 season when Vince Carter and Jason Kidd were running the show. They also have a lot more at stake in the game, which should mean they want to come out and handle business. Even with that, the Knicks will have something to play for as well, as no one ever wants to be swept by a division rival, let alone one that resides as closely as the Nets do. It should make for a much more entertaining game in reality than it looks like it will be on paper.

With the game being at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks should have a little more incentive to play well in front of their home crowd, giving them a little something positive in a season that has been devoid of much of anything positive.

That is exactly what they will do, as the Knicks will avoid the sweep and play the role of spoiler against the Nets tonight. The Nets being on the second night of a back-to-back will also work in the Knicks favor, as they have been off since Saturday night. It would go right along with April Fools’ Day, as the Knicks will play a joke on the Nets and actually show up and play when they think they will just roll over and give up.
