One of the major moves the Yankees made last season was to sign catcher Brian McCann from the Atlanta Braves. It was a difficult transition for McCann, as he had to learn a new pitching staff, and also a new league of pitchers. After the rough start, McCann was able to turn things around and have a decent offensive season.
In 2014, McCann totaled 23 homeruns, 75 RBI, 57 runs scored, and a .232 batting average. This season McCann will once again be in the middle of the Yankees’ order, which should give him opportunities to continue to drive in runs. The short porch in right field should also be more of a factor in his second season to help his homerun total.
Catcher is generally not a strong position in fantasy baseball, so McCann can offer power and RBI, and should be able to raise his batting average a bit.
