– Return of Halak
The Islanders had some awful injury news not too long ago, as goalie Jaroslav Halak suffered a lower-body injury that caused him to miss one game already. The good news for the Islanders is that despite being listed as day-to-day, Halak is expected to be back against the Devils on Saturday.
Halak was able to make it through a full practice on Thursday, and with the season winding down, the Islanders will be placing him back in net. This season has been a great one for Halak, as he has a 34-15-1, with a 2.46 GAA.
Michael Neuvirth hasn’t played very well for the Islanders since the trade, so it’s good that the Islanders will have their All-Star in net.
The Islanders will also be getting Nick Leddy back in the lineup after missing the last few games, as the Islanders are finally starting to get healthy.
