So far in the season series, the two teams have been evenly matched with two of the three games going into extra time. With the Islanders playing poor lately, and the Devils playing some better hockey, this could be set up for another overtime showdown.
The Islanders are one of the better teams in the NHL when it comes to shootouts, while the Devils want to avoid them at all costs. The Devils used Keith Kinkaid against the Buffalo Sabres last night, so it should be Cory Schneider in net against the Islanders on Saturday.
So far this season, Schneider has been good for the Devils with a 26-25-7 record, and a great 2.16 GAA. With Schneider in net, the Devils are a pretty good team, and at home could push the Islanders.
