While St. John’s and San Diego State rarely play each other, the Red Storm will be familiar with one of the players the Aztecs deploy in Dwayne Polee II. Polee, the fifth year senior, started his college basketball career with St. John’s back during the 2010-2011 season.

Against the Red Storm in the Round of 64, he will show them a little of what they missed out on when he transferred out to San Diego State. Polee has never been much of a scorer, as he has averaged only 5.8 points per game in his college career.

Against the Red Storm that will change though. At 6-feet-10 inches tall, St. John’s will struggle to compete with that size, especially without center Chris Obekpa. Because of that, Polee will find it easier to score than he has throughout the season. It will result in a season high-scoring output from Polee, who will be excited to be facing his old team.
