– Won’t be their last game

Since the Islanders got off to a much better start to the season than expected, New York hockey fans have had in the back of their minds of a possible playoff matchup between the Islanders and Rangers. It will be the last season in the Nassau Coliseum for the Islanders, and what better way to close ‘The Barn’ than having a playoff series between the Rangers and Islanders.

Though the Islanders have had success against the Rangers this season, wins early in the season don’t mean as much as they do later on in the campaign. It’s good for the Islanders’ confidence that they have won the season series no matter what against the Rangers, but a fourth win against them this season would be very nice.

The Eastern Conference is very good this season, and neither the Islanders nor Rangers will have an easy road to the Stanley Cup. Hockey fans in New York would surely love a seven-game series in the playoffs to tell who the best team in New York is, and there is a good chance they’ll get their wishes.
