Antone Smith

The 29-year old Smith is a relative unknown for many people, but is someone the Giants could target in free agency. He may be 29-years old, but he has plenty of legs left and tread on his tires, as he has only 44 career touches, with all but eight of them coming last season.

He would be the big-play threat the Giants are desperate to add into their backfield, and would step right into the role vacated by Wilson’s neck injury. In 2014, Smith recorded four touchdowns of 40 or more yards, which is the epitome of home run hitter.

The only negative for Smith is that he is coming off a broken leg than cut his 2014 season short prematurely. That could also be looked at as a positive thing for the Giants, as they will not have to commit any type of big money to Smith to sign him.

The Giants will have competition from at least the Falcons for Smith’s services, and it will be interesting to see what it will take to bring in the former Florida State product. The Falcons have a bigger role available most likely, but if the Giants present Smith with a plan that entices him they could steal him away from Atlanta.
