Darrelle Revis

Quite possibly the most talented player at his position that the Jets have ever drafted, Darrelle Revis is well-deserving of being mentioned as one of the best first-round picks in Jets history. After being drafted 14th overall in the 2007 NFL Draft, Revis would quickly become one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.

In his second year, Revis would make his first of six Pro Bowls, and has also been first-team All-Pro four times in his career. In his six seasons with the Jets, Revis would be widely regarded as the best cornerback in the NFL, leading to the phrase “Revis Island.” Along with Rex Ryan, Revis led the Jets’ great defense that helped the team reach the AFC Championship Game back-to-back years.

With Revis’ great play did come his desire to be paid for what he thought he was worth, which led to a rift with the front office. With the fear they he would walk in free agency, the Jets would decide to trade away Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Revis’ time in Tampa Bay wouldn’t last long, as he was released and would leave to join the New England Patriots, helping them win the Super Bowl in 2015.

It’s tough to watch Revis’ success with the rival Patriots, but there’s no denying how great Revis was with the Jets.
