Marvin Powell

The Jets’ fourth overall pick in 1977 from USC, Powell went on to have a very successful 11-year career with nine of those seasons being as the Jets right tackle. Powell would go on to make the Pro Bowl five times with the Jets from 1979-1983. He would be first team All-Pro three times in 1979, 1981, and 1982.

Offensive linemen generally don’t get the recognition that they should, and in Powell’s playing days it was even worse. There’s no denying that with five Pro Bowls in nine seasons with the Jets that Powell was one of the best first-round picks of all-time by the Jets.
