A lot of the talk heading into the All-Star Weekend has been about Carmelo Anthony’s status for the game. Anthony is likely going to play, and that has caused a stir among Knicks fans. It’s rare in a player’s career that he will have the opportunity to play on his home-court, and that has seemed to be the major reason for Anthony to not have knee surgery yet.
Since the start of 2015, Anthony has missed nine games, and has sat in two of the Knicks last three games. In the one game that Anthony played in that stretch against the Miami Heat, he was forced to leave the game after coming up hobbling after a jump shot.
For Knicks fans it could be a bit upsetting to see Anthony playing in an exhibition game after missing so many games that actually have meaning. If Anthony plays, not much can be expected from him, as he has looked like a shell of himself lately.
Sunday could very well be the last time Knicks fans see Anthony on the court at MSG this season.
