6. Re-signed Chase Headley

Grade: A+

If they didn’t re-sign Headley, we might be looking at Alex Rodriguez as the opening day third baseman. There clearly wasn’t much of an option with this move. Headley is one of the best defenders at the hot corner. He was the third best in all of baseball in Ultimate Zone Rating (UZR) per fangraphs. When he was traded to the Yankees, his offensive numbers started to improve as well. He batted .262 with a .371 OBP with 6 home runs in 58 games. A full year at Yankee stadium should help this switch hitter, as he will have the left field porch to his advantage.
