3. Signed Andrew Bailey to minor league deal

Grade: B

After an injury riddled season with the Boston Red Sox, the Yankees tried to bring him aboard, but injuries stood in the way of him pitching at all for the Yankees, and he hasn’t pitched in the majors since July 2013.

I like the signing because there is no risk involved. They also made this move in preparation for David Robertson signing elsewhere. Based on his history, it’s a long shot that Bailey can hold down a bullpen spot. But if he does, his ERA has been at least a 3.24 or lower when throwing 40 innings or more in a season.
