For a while it looked like Lopez was going to be heading to Oklahoma City in what appeared to be a three-team deal that would have brought Lance Stephenson to the Nets from the Charlotte Hornets.

So far no move has been made, and talks have simmered, but there is obviously interest for Lopez in Oklahoma City. Due to injuries to Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, the Thunder are currently out of the playoffs in the Western Conference. As long as Westbrook and Durant stay healthy, the Thunder will make the playoffs, but in recent years a lack of offense from the low-post and in the half-court have hurt the Thunder.

Kendrick Perkins and Steven Adams are little to no threat at the center position, making the possible addition of Lopez a massive improvement to the Thunder’s offense. With Serge Ibaka’s ability to stretch the floor as a power forward, the spacing with Lopez would be excellent for the Thunder’s offense.
