Safety.

This is also a position of need for the Giants.

As much as I would like to see Antrel Rolle back with the team next year, the front office may not feel the same appreciation, considering his price tag. Rolle is a dependable, healthy, and consistent player who would like to get paid what he believes he is worth. Even with a possible hometown discount, he may still be too pricey for the Giants to afford, and may prevent them from improving in other areas.

On the other side, Stevie Brown and Quintin Demps did not fare well this past season, and the Giants seemingly allowed big pass plays every game. The safety position must also be addressed in the offseason.

Here are some possible free agents:

Here are a few safeties available in the draft:

  • Landon Collins
  • Gerod Holliman
  • Anthony Harris

As you can see, there are not many appealing free agents or prospects available at the safety position. The Giants’ best best may be to re-sign Rolle, not only because of his talent, but also because of his leadership and intangibles. No one available is more appealing that Rolle this offseason and losing him would create another void to fill.

If I were GM?

Resign Rolle if he accepts less money. If not, sign Moore.
