– Another Statement Coming?

The Islanders are starting rack up the statement wins against the powers of the Eastern Conference, as most recently they shutout the Rangers. Arguably the biggest statement of the Islanders’ season thus far happened a while ago in a home-and-home against the Penguins in November.

After losing to the Penguins early in the season, on the home-and-home, they were able to pick up two straight victories with a 5-4 in a shootout in Pittsburgh, and then a convincing 4-1 victory at home the next night.

The Penguins surely haven’t forgotten about those two games, and the Islanders shouldn’t have either, as they continue to prove to the NHL that they aren’t a fluke at all this season.
