In addition to the Rangers being one of the hottest teams in hockey, they will also have some extra motivation in this game, as the Islanders handed them a beating in the beginning of the season.
On October 14 in MSG, the Islanders defeated the Rangers 6-3 in what was one of the worst losses of the season. It was a tough day for Henrik Lundqvist as he allowed six goals in the game, but it was a lot of mistakes by the Rangers’ defense that led to great opportunities for the Islanders.
The Rangers are obviously a much better and healthier team than they were for that game, and if the Islanders don’t bring their A-game it will likely result in a Rangers win.
