One of the more entertaining possible options for the Jets’ QB in 2015 is Cleveland Browns’ Johnny Manziel. One of two first round picks by the Browns in 2014, Manziel sat behind Brian Hoyer for most of the season. But when Hoyer started to struggle late in the season, former Jets’ defensive coordinator Mike Pettine gave Manziel a shot.
Manziel’s sample size is extremely small, as he only played in one full game for the Browns, and that was a disaster against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the Browns’ shutout loss to the Bengals in Manziel’s first start, he went 10-18 for 80 yards passing with two INT.
A major concern for the Browns is Manziel’s off the field antics, as it is well-documented that he likes to have a good time as a young football player. Those characteristics would be why it is possible that the Browns’ front office may attempt to rid themselves of Manziel, and look to try and trade him after just one season.
