Get Out Of Debt

The Knicks have notoriously been one of the highest payroll teams in the NBA for plenty of years. For the first time since 2009, there is a light at the end of the tunnel in terms of cap space.

This year alone the Knicks will have the massive contracts of Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani coming off the books. Altogether, the Knicks will have at least seven players currently on the roster become free agents at the end of the season. That number could reach as high as high as 10 if Iman Shumpert leaves, J.R. Smith declines his player’s option, or the Knicks decline the options of Quincy Acy and Travis Wear.

That amount of cap space is precious in the NBA, as the Knicks could quickly turnaround a talent barren roster with a couple of acquisitions. There are a number of players that will be available as free agents this offseason, which leads us to the last part of the slideshow.
