7.) Dellin Betances
2014 was a fantastic rookie season for the Yankees’ young right-hander Dellin Betances who became the Yankees’ eighth inning man to setup Robertson. Betances wasted little time becoming a fan-favorite with his ability to strikeout batters.
Betances finished the 2014 season going 5-0, with an ERA of 1.40, 135 strikeouts, and 22 holds. His great season earned him a spot on the All-Star team, which is an incredible feat for a rookie, and for a setup man.
2015 will be a challenging year for Betances, as with Robertson leaving for the White Sox, it will likely be Betances getting the first crack at being the Yankees’ new closer.
