Under Ryan, the Jets defense was the strength of the team. If they would like to continue that trend, going after the defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks would be a smart move. The Seahawks defense revolutionized the NFL game much like Ryan’s Baltimore Ravens’ defenses did prior to him taking over the Jets. The same affect could be had with Quinn, who led a Seahawks defense that is feared by any offense going against it.

The Seahawks defense looked very vulnerable in the early stages of 2014, yet still found a way to finish atop the defensive rankings for yardage and points allowed. They have continued to adapt even after rule changes to slow them down and roster turnover. The man responsible for that is Quinn, who continues to get the most of his players and scheme no matter who he plugs in.

Quinn also has some experience being in this media market, as he was the defensive line coach for the Jets from 2007-2009. Being the head coach is a whole different animal, but having any type of relationship with upper management such as Woody Johnson going in could help turn the franchise around sooner than later, as there is a lot of changes that need to be made.
