New York Giants first round pick Evan Engram continues to turn heads. The latest praise is coming from an all time Giant pass catching great.

The New York Giants seemingly struck gold with first round pick Evan Engram.

When he was initially drafted, I hated the pick because it didn’t address any immediate needs. In my mind, it seemed like this draft was linebacker or bust, but I have since been proven wrong.

Engram is the real deal, and this week, a former New York Giant solidified that opinion.

Mark Bavaro, one of the best pass catchers in Giants history thinks Engram is going to shine

based on his first glance of the former Ole Miss Rebel.

"“He’s unbelievable. I don’t know what he’s going to look like in pads and playing football. But he can move. He can run and he can catch. He’s impressive.” – Mark Bavaro to the NY Post"

I don’t know about everyone else, but when a potential Hall of Famer says something like that, you just have to listen.

Bavaro definitely knows what he’s talking about when it comes to raw talent. Engram possesses the ability to be a matchup nightmare, and it will be fine to watch.

He is more of a wide receiver than a tight end. He has receiver type speed, and he has the size of a pure tight end. Put him in the slot, and no team will have a player to cover him.

A linebacker will be too slow, and a corner will be too small. Eli Manning loves his tight ends in the red zone, and I think Engram with thrive within the 20 yard line.

We’ve yet to see Engram in pads, but with such praise from a great like Bavaro, it just gets fans excited for the years to come.
