The New Jersey Devils took Swiss forward Nico Hischier with the first overall pick in the 2017 Draft. Let’s breakdown why the 18-year-old will boost the Devils rebuild.

The New Jersey Devils made a great move taking Nico Hischier with the top overall pick in the NHL Draft this week.

Hischier is a rising star, and the Devils caught him right on the up-and-up. Most people believed that Canadian forward Nolan Patrick was the top pick, but Hischier’s stock has been rising everyday.

The young man is set to make all the difference in the Devils’ organization.

He still needs time to develop, but man, does this kid have some raw talent. His potential is endless, and he marks the start to the rebuild of the New Jersey Devils.

Ever since losing the Stanley Cup a few years back, the Devils have been in a rut of a rebuild. Hischeir is a remarkable hockey player. His intangibles are unreal, and he can be the future of this organization.

The top pick is going to be the reason the New Jersey Devils get back to the apex of the hockey world.
