The New York Giants had an up-and-down 2017 NFL Draft. They were able to hit on some needs but missed on others. Linebacker was one of their biggest needs, and they passed on them in the first two rounds. The offensive line was another need, and they waited until the sixth round to select one.

First round pick Evan Engram gives the Giants a matchup nightmare offensively at tight end. But will Eli Manning have enough time to distribute the ball to him, Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, and Brandon Marshall? Third round pick Davis Webb has the tools that coaches love in a quarterback, but he has a long way to go to become an NFL caliber quarterback.

If Webb turns into Manning’s successor and plays well, this draft is a big win for the Giants; finding a quarterback at any time in the draft will always improve the draft class grade. Second round pick Dalvin Tomlinson and fourth round pick Wayne Gallman should help out right away. Fifth round pick, defensive end Avery Moss and sixth round pick, offensive lineman Adam Bisnowaty, could find themselves in the rotation at their respective units at some point.

Will the Giants regret not hitting on more of their needs in the 2017 NFL Draft? Multiple picks that were made seemed to have an eye toward the future. Hopefully, that doesn’t cause regression for a Giants team that looks to be heading in the right direction.
