Check out our live tracker for the New York Giants during the third and final day of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The New York Giants will be busy once again on Day Three of the 2017 NFL Draft. The New York Giants will have one selection in each round as they look to finish things out strong after receiving mixed results on the first two days of the draft.

In Round One the Giants selected Ole Miss tight end, Evan Engram. It was a pick that was met with some skepticism. Engram is a matchup nightmare in the slot. But he brings almost nothing to the Giants as a blocker as he is basically a slot receiver. Many people had hoped the Giants took David Njoku, who is considered a more complete, prototypical tight end.

The Giants second round pick was met with a better reaction. With the 55th overall pick, the Giants selected Alabama defensive tackle, Dalvin Tomlinson. Tomlinson is a mountain of a man and will help the Giants defending the run.

But, he does not bring much to the table as a pass rusher. It was a reach to select him where they did, but he should fill a need right away. He will fill the whole left by Johnathan Hankins’ departure.

With their third-round pick, the Giants drafted who could be Eli Manning’s eventually successor. The Giants used the 87th overall pick on California quarterback, Davis Webb.

Webb has a lot of tools NFL teams will like. He has good size, standing just under 6-feet-5 inches tall. He has good mechanics, with a whiplike release according to Pro Football Focus. Webb’s arm strength is great as well, as he can drive the ball outside the numbers, which is necessary to find success in the NFL and in windy MetLife Stadium.

But Webb has a lot of work to do if he is going to realize his potential. He played in an Air Raid offense at California, so he has a long way to go learning a pro-style offense. With Manning locked in as the starter, Webb will be afforded the chance to learn behind Manning and develop.

The Giants still have some needs to fill at offensive line, linebacker, and running back. The Giants will have four chances to help fill those needs on Day 3.

Round 4: Clemson Running Back, Wayne Gallman; Pick 34, 140th Overall

Round 5: Youngstown State Defensive End Avery Moss; Pick 23, 167th Overall

Round 6: Pittsburgh Offensive Tackle Adam Bisnowaty; Pick 16, 200th Overall

It is anyone’s guess as to where the Giants will go with their selections. Their biggest needs are clear, but if there is value it wouldn’t be surprising to see them add a cornerback. There is little depth behind Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Janoris Jenkins, and Eli Apple. Also, Rodgers-Cromartie is a free agent after this season, so finding a long-term replacement would make sense.

At this point in the draft, the Giants are unlikely to find a player to take over at left tackle this season. They will more than likely add an offensive lineman at some point, but it will probably be more of a project type player.

Will the Giants be able to fill the remaining needs on their roster, or will they have to wait until undrafted free agency begins and hope some veterans are released prior to camps beginning? We will have to wait and see, and we will have all the information you need for the final day of the draft.
