Todd McShay of ESPN.com recently made the perfect three-round mock draft for all 32 teams. What were the perfect picks for the New York Jets?

The 2017 NFL Draft is a very important event for the New York Jets. After a poor season, the Jets are rebuilding, and a team that is rebuilding needs to draft well.

Even though the Jets struggled last season, their first pick is sixth overall in the first round. While there has been a debate about whether or not the Jets will take a quarterback in this spot, they have plenty of other needs besides a quarterback.

While quarterback play has been an issue for the Jets, they also had one of the worst secondaries in the NFL last season. Even though Darrelle Revis had a very poor season, he was still arguably their best cornerback.

In McShay’s perfect mock draft, he has the Jets addressing many of their needs with their four picks in the first three rounds. Here’s what McShay had so say about the picks.

"Round 1 (6): Malik Hooker, S, Ohio StateRound 2 (39): DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre DameRound 3 (70): Jake Butt, TE, MichiganRound 3 (107): Roderick Johnson, OT, Florida StateSpeed, range and ball skills — that’s what Hooker brings, and the Jets need more of all three after intercepting just eight passes in 2016 (tied for 29th). Hooker’s durability is a question mark, and he’s still recovering from offseason shoulder and hernia surgeries, but he had elite production at Ohio State, posting seven interceptions last season. Kizer is not ready to play right away, and he wouldn’t need to in New York after the Jets signed Josh McCown this offseason. Tight end has to be a priority for the Jets after having just 18 catches from the position in 2016, 35 fewer than the next-lowest team. Johnson has 36-inch arms, and his exceptional length gives him some upside as a late third-rounder."

The selections by McShay for the Jets are pretty good. He had them avoid taking a quarterback in the first round, and the decision to take Hooker will help the Jets’ secondary.

In the second round, the Jets do take a quarterback, as many believe that they will take one eventually in the NFL Draft. The third round pick of Jake Butt is an interesting one, as he could be a huge upgrade for the Jets at the tight end position. After the selection of Butt in the third round, the Jets taking Roderick Johnson is good for adding youth on their offensive line.

Overall, this would be a pretty solid draft for the Jets. They address plenty of their needs, and this would certainly help the rebuild.
