Brooklyn Nets Rumors: Point guard Jeremy Lin is willing to help recruit in the offseason.

Brooklyn Nets rumors are going to begin focusing on the 2017 NBA Draft. Despite not owning their pick, the Nets will have two selections in the first round of the draft. The Nets are in the early stages of their rebuild as they look to improve their roster.

The NBA Draft is just the first chance the Nets will have to upgrade their roster. They will have an opportunity to do so in free agency as well. Given the state of the team, it will be difficult to lure top free agents to Brooklyn, but the Nets tried to be aggressive last season.

While the signings didn’t pan out, the Nets made huge offers to Allen Crabbe and Tyler Johnson. Unfortunately for the Nets, both players were restricted free agents, giving their teams a chance to match. Both teams matched, as the Portland Trail Blazers matched on Crabbe and the Miami Heat matched on Johnson.

There is no doubt that both players would have helped the Nets this past season and in the future. You can be sure that the Nets will try signing players of that caliber again this offseason. This time around, they will have someone vouching for them.

Point guard Jeremy Lin said that he is willing to help recruit for the organization. The Nets have two spots locked up in their lineup with Lin and point guard and Brook Lopez at center. Lin is hoping he can help land another player to add to the foundation of the team.

"“I honestly don’t think it’s going to be that hard of a sell,” Lin told the New York Post. “First of all, it’s Brooklyn. It’s New York. Second of all, everyone can tell this culture is completely different. You can talk to the players. There’s a freshness, a different vibe, and what we did after the All-Star break will help. But also, players just want to be treated the right way, and I know that there’s definitely a lot of interest.“Players are asking about us because they saw the way that Kenny [Atkinson] coached. They saw how hard these guys played night-in and night-out, how unselfish we played. They want to be a part of that, so there’s already been a lot of interest. People are already asking questions, whether it’s to me or Brook Lopez or other players. I don’t think it’s going to be difficult.”"

The Nets will have money to spend this offseason with between $30-33 million available. In addition to the two first round draft picks, the Nets have an excellent chance of adding to the foundation of their rebuild.

Caris LeVert looked like a solid rotation player in his rookie season. Isaiah Whitehead flashed at times as well, and Sean Kilpatrick looks to be a diamond in the rough. Spencer Dinwiddie was a solid find as well, filling in admirably for Lin when he was injured.

The Nets finished the season well, going 4-3 in April. There is some optimism around the organization, and Lin is hoping he can help capitalize on that and lure some help to the Nets.
