The New York Giants have been rumored to be in talks with Nick Mangold. If they were to sign the veteran center, would it hurt or help the current offensive situation?

The New York Giants have had a rather productive offseason. From signing superstar wide receiver Brandon Marshall, and re-signing Jason Pierre-Paul, there is excitement in New York.

One thing that has been a constant question mark has been the Giants offensive line. Rumors have surfaced saying Jerry Reese is interested in long-time Jets center Nick Mangold.

Mangold is entering his 12th year in the league, and let’s face it, he’s no spring chicken. He has been one of the NFL’s best offensive linemen for the last decade. In 11 years he has made seven Pro Bowls, and is a two-time First Team All-Pro, but would signing him be in the Giants best interest?

There is a debate over whether or not the Giants should go after Mangold in this free agency period. He has been one of the most consistent linemen in the NFL, but his age is definitely hanging over him at this point.

Let’s take a look at why some of us here at Empire Writes back think that Mangold might not be what the Giants are looking for.
