Recent New York Knicks rumors are that Joakim Noah is going to be undergoing knee surgery, and will miss the rest of the season.

After waiving Brandon Jennings, recent Knicks rumors are that center Joakim Noah will be be out for the rest of the season. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Noah will be undergoing season-ending knee surgery.

A poor season for the Knicks is continuing to get worse. After waiving Brandon Jennings, it now appears that Joakim Noah will be out for the rest of the season. As the big offseason signing by the Knicks, Noah has been a huge disappointment for the Knicks.

Prior to signing this offseason with the Knicks, Noah has been battling through injuries the past few seasons. Signing him to a four-year deal was certainly a risk for the Knicks, and it has clearly been a move that has backfired.

This season, Noah has averaged 5.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game. Noah was signed to be the defensive anchor for the Knicks this season. However, he has barely played, and when he has, the results haven’t been that good.

With Noah now done for the season, the Knicks will be moving forward with Kyle O’Quinn and Willy Hernangomez at center. Due to Noah being out for much of the season already, him having surgery and missing the rest of the season really shouldn’t hurt the Knicks on the court too much for the rest of the season.

While O’Quinn has played well this season, it will now be about getting more minutes for Hernangomez. This season, Hernangomez has shown the potential to be a starting center in the NBA, and it’s time to give him a chance to do so.

Seeing Noah having to undergo another surgery is not good for the Knicks moving forward. He is still signed for three years after this one, and it’s hard to imagine he is going to be anything more than a bench player moving forward. Even though the salary cap has gone up, the Knicks have far too much invested on a player that isn’t going to be helping them.
