The New York Knicks surprisingly made no moves at the NBA Trade Deadline. This has left Carmelo Anthony among the confused about the team’s plans.

The NBA trade deadline came and went, and the New York Knicks surprisingly didn’t make any moves.

For weeks, we have heard Carmelo Anthony’s name as one of the players that were rumored to be available. Due to his no-trade clause, moving Anthony was going to be very difficult, and it never appeared like any deal was close.

As the deadline approached, it appeared like there were some serious talks between the Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves for a point guard swap. A trade of Derrick Rose for Ricky Rubio would have certainly been an interesting one, as Rose is a free agent at the end of the season. However, nothing came of those talks either.

As the 3 p.m. deadline came and went, it was surprising to see that the Knicks stood pat. While this confused many, it also left Anthony wondering what the future plans are.

"“Yeah, I mean, nobody likes to be in limbo,” Anthony said to Ian Begley of ESPN.com. “We all want to know kind of what’s going on, especially when it’s involving you. But that’s not the way it is in sports. I don’t think I’m the only one that’s going through that or feeling that way. I think there’s other players who feel the same way, that they want to be involved — not involved, but at least up to date with what’s going on. I feel like I’m kind of up to date as far as when it comes to me what’s going on.”"

Even though the Knicks have struggled this season, they are still in the mix for a playoff spot. While making the playoffs would be nice, it would be hard to imagine the Knicks winning more than a game or two in a first round matchup.

So, despite having some assets that they could have moved, the Knicks are certainly in a state of limbo. They aren’t quite selling out for a better draft pick, and they didn’t do anything to improve the team. With no moves made, it’s hard to figure out what the direction of the Knicks is going forward.
