Christmas is just around the corner… okay well, Christmas for baseball and New York Yankees fans. Every Yankee fan should be on the edge of their seat with the 2017 season right around the corner. This year could be one of the brightest in the recent history of the team for several reasons.

The Yankees ended last season on a great run which made many believe that the team is getting ready to hit its stride in 2017. Brian Cashman made several great moves that gave the Yankees some much-needed depth in their system. The fans thought that after Cashman traded away Andrew Miller, Aroldis Chapman, and Carlos Beltran, that they would have to embrace the tank.

The Yankees went on to go 40-34 after the All-Star break and were ranked as one of the top farm systems in the league. One of the biggest highlights was the call-up of Gary Sanchez in August. After Sanchez’s call-up, the Yankees went 17-11 in August.

Looking forward to this year the Yankees still have one of the top farm systems in baseball, they brought back All-Star closer Aroldis Chapman, and they will have a shot to win one of the most competitive divisions in baseball. Here are five reasons Yankees fans should be looking forward to the start of the 2017 season.
