Former New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher’s house was burglarized earlier this week.

Former New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher often found himself in the news for the wrong reasons. His name has come up once again despite not being in the league any longer and again it was something bad; just this time it was not self-inflicted.

According to Los Angeles Police, Fisher’s home was burglarized on Monday. The burglars made away with some serious loot, as more than $300,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from the house.

There is some discrepancies about what exactly was stolen. Officer Drake Madison said that he did not know if any of Fisher’s NBA Championship rings from his time as a player with the Los Angeles Lakers were stolen. TMZ Sports, though, says that Fisher’s championship rings were indeed stolen.

TMZ Sports reports that Fisher left his house around 7:30 AM on Monday, and when he returned three hours later it was clear that someone had been inside. Officials with knowledge of the incident believe that the perpetrators got into the house through a side door and ransacked the place for jewelry.

The LAPD is still investigating and no arrests have been made. The robbery happened at Fisher’s house in the Tarzana neighborhood.

This is the first time in a while that people will hear a story involving Fisher and feel bad for him. He made plenty of headlines during his short tenure as the Knicks head coach, but never for anything good.

He was in numerous headlines for his altercation with former teammate Matt Barnes in regards to Fisher’s relationship with Barnes’ ex-wife. Fisher was also rumored to be causing problems with the significant others of players on his own team that he was coaching.

Most recently, Fisher was making noise as he shared his opinion on the job Jeff Hornacek, his replacement with the Knicks, was doing. Fisher sounded bitter about how things ended between he, Phil Jackson, and the Knicks when he said that he did more with less in regards to Hornacek’s coaching job.

With so much going on with the Knicks, Hornacek didn’t delve much into it, saying it is not something that he would do as a former coach but that some people will; that some people being Fisher.
