Phoenix Suns vs New York Knicks Recap, Highlights, Final Score, More
The New York Knicks suffered yet another excruciating late-game defeat at the hands of the Phoenix Suns Saturday night.
For the New York Knicks it was a different day, but the same result. They have struggled with late-game execution in recent weeks and that continued again against the visiting Phoenix Suns. The Suns were able to steal a victory from the Knicks, who have yet to win at Madison Square Garden in 2017.
It was a competitive game throughout, as the teams were close from start to finish. The Knicks were able to climb back into the game in the third quarter, but once again were lackluster in the waning moments.
The Knicks went up by as many as five points in the fourth quarter but picked a bad time to suffer a scoring drought. They did not score the final 2:04 of the game, as the Suns locked down defensively.

The Knicks defense was there at the end of the game, but they were in this predicament because they couldn’t stop the Suns in the first half. They surrendered over 60 points in the first half once again but gave up only 46 in the second half.
Unfortunately for the Knicks, it was too little too late as they couldn’t finish their comeback they started in the third quarter. The Knicks had their chances to put the game away, but came up just short; something that has become a troubling trend for the team.
Three Stars
SF Carmelo Anthony, Knicks — Anthony had a difficult matchup tonight with P.J. Tucker lining up across from him. It did not matter, as Anthony had a strong game offensively. He scored an efficient 31 points, going 9-of-17 from the field, including 5-of-6 from deep an 8-of-10 from the foul line. His only miss from the three-point line came at the final buzzer, as it was halfway down before falling out. He also added seven rebounds, six assists, and one steal.
PG Eric Bledsoe, Suns, — Point guards have given the Knicks problems all season and tonight was no different. Bledsoe once again lived at the foul line, knocking down all 10 of his free throw attempts en route to 23 points. He also added seven assists and five rebounds and didn’t turn the ball over in 39 minutes.
PG Derrick Rose, Knicks — Rose gave Bledsoe, one of the better defensive point guards in the NBA, all he could handle. Rose attacked the rim relentlessly, scoring 26 points on 12-of-26 from the field. He added three rebounds and five assists and did not turn the ball over either. He was on the court for 36 minutes.
